The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction, held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, saw franchisesmaking significant investments to bolster their squads.

A total of 182 players were acquired, including 62 overseas talents, with franchises collectively spending ₹639.15 crore.

Notable Auction Highlights:

Rishabh Pant: The wicketkeeper-batsman became the most expensive player in IPL history,

signing with Lucknow Super Giants for ₹27 crore.

Shreyas Iyer: The dynamic batsman was secured by Punjab Kings for ₹26.75 crore.

Venkatesh Iyer: The versatile all-rounder joined Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹23.75 crore.

Yuzvendra Chahal: The seasoned spinner was acquired by Punjab Kings for ₹18 crore.

Arshdeep Singh: The promising fast bowler also joined Punjab Kings for ₹18 crore.

Jos Buttler: The explosive English wicketkeeper-batsman was picked up by Gujarat Titans

for ₹15.75 crore.

KL Rahul: The prolific opener signed with Delhi Capitals for ₹14 crore.

Trent Boult: The New Zealand fast bowler was acquired by Mumbai Indians for ₹12.50

crore.

Josh Hazlewood: The Australian pacer joined Royal Challengers Bangalore for ₹12.50

crore.

Mohammed Siraj: The Indian fast bowler was secured by Gujarat Titans for ₹12.25 crore.


Additionally, 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made headlines by becoming the youngest player

ever selected in the IPL, signing with Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.1 crore.
